About Us

Northwest Crossing Elementary is located in the Northwest quadrant of Northside Independent School District.  The school was named after the rapidly developing neighborhood in which it is located.

The school opened in August 1982 as NISD's 25th Elementary School.  Since that time our school has undergone several exciting changes including a new 13 room addition which was completed in 2004.  This addition houses our Pre-Kinder students, Kinder students, PPCD students, Reading Specialist, Art Room and Computer Labs.

Community groups use our school building for various activities: Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Homeowners' Meetings, and a variety of baseball and soccer teams. Our school has also been used in the summer for a variety of enrichment programs and reading and math tutorial programs.

Northwest Crossing also has a Learning Tree program. Northside School District’s Learning Tree program offers opportunities for children to access academic enrichment, social, and recreational experiences in an after school environment that is safe and supervised.  It is run by the Community Education Department, known for its long history of providing quality programming for children.  For more information go to  http://www.nisd.net/learning-tree/.

We also provide a wide range of after school clubs and activities for students to enjoy. These include:
