Board-Superintendent Goals

  • Improve participation and achievement in the broad variety of academic and co- and extra-curricular programs offered in Northside ISD.
    • Improve student performance on STAAR for all tests at all grade levels and forall student groups.
    • For students who are ready, improve access to individualized, accelerated course work in the grades prior to high school.
    • Improve students’ access to, participation and achievement in advanced academics including dual enrollment, Advanced Placement and industry recognized certifications.
    • Improve achievement on measures of college readiness to include SAT, ACT, military enlistment and successful completion of coherent sequence.
    • Improve access to and participation in co- and extra-curricular activities to include: fine arts, JROTC, athletics, service learning organizations and clubs.
    • Form a Superintendent/Student Leaders Advisory Committee
  • Improve the perception and reality of the middle school experience.
    • Measure areas of satisfaction and opportunities for improvement at NISD middle schools.
    • Ensure a broad variety of offerings exist and are understood and accessible to students and parents to include co- and extra-curricular offerings as well as high school credits offered to MS students.
    • Improve the transition services offered to intermediate grade students and families who are rising to middle school.
    • Improve the marketing of NISD middle schools to those in elementary feeder patterns as well as to the general public.
    • Form a middle school task force to be comprised of parents, teachers and students.
  • Study and implement a marketing campaign for Northside ISD.
    • Integrate industry expertise with Board and staff goals for a marketing campaign.
    • Develop a short and intermediate range plan that includes goals, budget and metrics for measuring impact.
  • Develop and educate staff and patrons about capital campaign for the spring of 2018.
    • Complete the development of a well-designed capital campaign that balances the need to build new classrooms and renovate older campuses.
    • Educate NISD staff and patrons about the need for the bonds as well as the nature of the work that will be completed with the voter-approved funding.
