Do you have a passion for reading or being read to, or even reading aloud to a four-legged friend? Then mark your calendar for Saturday, May 18 for NISD Storyfest 2019. The event will be held from 12 to 3 p.m. at Neff MS.

The free family literacy event is geared toward elementary students and will include storytellers, national and local authors, a writing contest, character parade, MakerSpace stations, games, and more. Dogs from the local Humane Society will also be on hand for anyone wanting to read them a favorite book.

Jonathan Auxier, an award-winning Canadian-born writer of young adult literature, will also be participating.

Children must be accompanied by a parent or other responsible adult.

“This is a great opportunity for our younger readers to meet authors, listen to stories, purchase books, play games, and further develop their love of reading,” says Library Specialist Elizabeth Rush.
