Northside Independent School District (NISD) announced its policy today for providing free and reduced-price meals for children served under the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) income eligibility guidelines. Each school/site or the central office has a copy of the policy, which may be reviewed by anyone on request.
Thirty-nine thousand students at 48 Northside ISD schools will receive free breakfast and lunch this coming school year thanks to the federal Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act which will provide the financial support needed, according to Dr. Brian T. Woods, superintendent.
Before 106,000 students arrive for the first day of school on Aug. 28, a brigade of new teachers first have to be schooled.

Northside will be moving to a new gradebook at the beginning of the 2017-2018 school year and along with this comes a new parent/guardian portal called the Home Access Center (HAC). The HAC will be replacing the existing gradebook found on Parent Connection.
