Crowning achievements - 3 journalism programs earn top honors

Three Northside ISD high school journalism programs earned top honors from the Columbia Scholastic Press Association for excellence in coverage, writing, and design for print and online publications.

Clark High School journalism earned a Gold Crown for their print publication, The Chronicle. This is their first Gold Crown. They won seven Silver Crowns in previous years.

Holmes High School journalism earned a Gold Crown for their print and online hybrid publications, The Gavel. It is the first Gold Crown for Holmes HS. The journalism team is one of 18 hybrid publications nationally to earn this distinction. They won Silver Crowns the previous two years.

Stevens HS journalism earned a Silver Crown for the print publication, The Talon. It is the second Silver Crown for the journalism program.
