Clark High School students visited the Great Barrier Reef, Yosemite National Park, and ancient Greece all without leaving their classrooms. The 450 students used virtual field trip simulation technology, called Google Expeditions, that is currently being piloted by Google across the country.

Students at Hector Garcia MS saw a need and literally took to the streets to fix the problem. As part of a Social Studies project, the safety-minded students worked with City Hall to get a sidewalk installed in front of their school. Click here to learn more about the project.

One of the district’s newest ‘recruits’ comes from the United States Air Force. For the last 13 years, Craig Matta performed with the Band of the Liberty, Band of the Pacific, and most recently, the Band of the West here in San Antonio. He is now serving as the new music teacher at Adams Hill Elementary School.
