Northside Story Fest will be held from 1 to 5 p.m. on Saturday, May 20 at Stinson Middle School, 13200 Skyhawk.

The free family literacy event is geared toward elementary students and will include storytellers, national and local authors, a book fair, a puppet show, MakerSpace stations, bookmark making, games, and more.

Children must accompanied by a parent or other responsible adult.

“This is a great opportunity for our younger readers to meet authors, listen to stories, purchase books, play games, and further develop their love of reading,” says Library Specialist Lisa Kulka.

Children must be accompanied by a parent or responsible adult.

Early bird door prizes will be given away at the opening session which begins at 1 p.m. with author introductions.

Authors and presenters for the event include Joe Hayes, Carranza Puppets, Claudia Villarreal, Lucas Miller, The Book Fairy, Carolyn Dee Flores, Lupe Ruiz Flores, Heroes, and more.

Last year, more than 500 families attended Story Fest which is sponsored by NISD Elementary Librarians. Artwork for this year’s event was created by Myers Elementary School student Soleil Gutierrez.
