For the third consecutive year, the Northside Education Foundation (NEF) is one of the top ranking educational foundations in Bexar County and among the top 50 in the nation, according to a national study ranking K-12 education foundations.
In the “Stepping Up: The Top K-12 Education Foundations in the Nation” study, NEF was ranked 33rd in the nation, with seven other Texas education foundations among the top 50.
The Stepping Up study is the nation’s only study committed to ranking educational foundations. The purpose of the study is to advocate the importance of K-12 education foundations while recognizing those that do it best.
The study looks at eight key performance categories to determine the ranking: top revenues, revenues per student, total assets, assets per student, grant and program expenses, grant and program expenses per student, investment income, and volunteers.
“We are extremely excited about this report,” says Cathy Naiser, NEF Board President. “We know that NEF is an outstanding organization, but it is nice to have this validation by a national and reputable study.”
