Peanut Butter Bowl is football game with a cause

August 5, 2016

Everyone will be a winner at the inaugural Peanut Butter Bowl when the Brandeis Broncos and Johnson Jaguars take to the football field August 27.

The two high schools are uniting for a cause – feeding hungry children. Each school will collect jars of creamy peanut butter at pep rallies, school events, and at the football game at Farris Stadium.

Donations will benefit Snack Pak 4 Kids (San Antonio), a group that feeds chronically hungry children in San Antonio.

Brandeis Head Coach Jeff Fleener, his wife Katy, and senior football players Ian Blake and Miles Puller joined Johnson Coach Ron Rittimann, his wife Patti, and Johnson football players at a press conference announcing the Peanut Butter Bowl game.

“We are excited and honored to take part in this event for Snack Pak 4 Kids along with Johnson High School,” Fleener said. “It shows how both of our school communities are going beyond the game to make a difference in San Antonio.”
