Science teacher learns global perspective

July 12, 2016

Loryn Windwehen, an 8th grade science teacher and department coordinator at Jefferson Middle School, was selected by the National Education Association (NEA) Foundation to participate in the Maverick Teachers Global Summit in Kuppam, India.

She was one of only 35 educators from around the world chosen to participate. She will spend July 17-24 with a select group of educators and experts discussing “pedagogies for the future to support education for a sustainable world.”

After taking part in the NEA Foundation’s Global Learning Fellowship in 2013, Windwehen has continued to bring the world to her classroom by acquiring the skills to integrate global competence into daily classroom instruction.
