NISD offers free summer feeding program

To comply with U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) regulations, Northside ISD will once again offer free meals to children starting June 8. This year, free meals are available at 17 schools for children who are 18 years or younger.

This list of schools and schedule is:

·         June 6 – Aug. 5 (M-F):  McDermott and Murnin elementary schools

·         June 7 – June 30 (M-Th): Burke, Colonies North, Hatchett Martin, and Mead elementary schools. (These schools will serve lunch on Friday, June 10).

·         June 7 – June 30 (M-Th): Boone, Driggers, Fernandez, Forester, Myers, and Valley Hi elementary schools and Jordan Middle School.

·         June 7 – June 22 (M-Th): Hobby, Vale, and Zachry middle schools.

Elementary serving times are 7:15-8:15 a.m. for breakfast and 10:30 a.m. – 12 p.m. for lunch. To view the menu, click here.

It is not a requirement to live in the district or attend NISD schools to participate. The summer feeding program will be offered are various school districts throughout the city.
