Northside ISD students continue to excel and receive numerous honors and awards. Below are students who have been named National Merit Semifinalists or Commended Scholars, scholar finalists in the National Hispanic Recognition Program, and National Achievement Scholar semifinalists.

National Merit Semifinalists and Commended Scholars
Northside ISD students were named semifinalists in the 61st annual National Merit Scholarship Program. The semifinalists will now compete for 8,300 Merit Scholarship awards, worth more than $32 million. The nationwide pool of semifinalists includes the highest scoring entrants in each state. About 90 percent of the semifinalists are expected to attain finalist standing, and about half of the finalists will win a National Merit Scholarship, earning the Merit Scholar title.
