Eighteen students from Business Careers High School competed at the Business Professionals of America (BPA) State Leadership Conference in Dallas, Texas on March 4 – 7, 2015. Students competed in team and individual events in the areas of Finance, Business Management, Digital Communication and Information Technology. Teams competing at the state competition include Network Design Team, Broadcast News Production Team, Video Production Team and Website Design Team.
The Network Design Team, consisting of Latrell Gaither, Elias Villegas, Omar Rodriguez and Jacob Garza, placed 5th, David Neal placed 2nd in Computer Security, Samantha Villanueva placed 6th in SQL Database Fundamentals, Brynne Manning placed 9th in C++ Programming, and Kat Flipse placed 12th in Legal Office Procedures. All of the students worked hard preparing for their events and represented the school in a professional manner.
David Neal will be advancing to the National Leadership Conference in Anaheim, California on May 6-10, 2015. This year’s sponsors, Jan Breitbarth, Diana Johnston, and Norma Arismendez are proud of all of the efforts of the BPA students and are looking forward to David’s continuing success at Nationals.
