Capital Group recognized for extraordinary commitment to Ross MS students

The 2015 Outstanding Corporate/Business Mentoring Program in San Antonio is the Capital Group which for decades has supported and partnered with Ross Middle School in Northside ISD.

The announcement was made by the University of Texas at San Antonio Mentoring Forum (SAMF) which recognizes outstanding partnerships in the community that exemplify extraordinary commitment as they engage employees to support and contribute to youth mentoring in Texas.  

"The support and passion by the employees of the Capital Group for our students is invaluable,” says Ross Middle School Principal Lisa McConoghy. “Our students look forward to their mentoring, to their involvement, to their visits."  

She adds, "Thousands of Ross students have benefited from the Capital Group's very active participation in this school and in their lives." 

The University of Texas at San Antonio Mentoring Forum (SAMF) awards committee described the Capital Group as "having an unwavering commitment to making a difference by fostering the positive intellectual, social, and academic development of youth," according to Dr. Andrea Longoria-Contreras.

The Capital Group’s contributions were recognized during the 3rdAnnual Texas Mentoring Summit on Jan. 16 in support of National Mentoring Month.
