Jay HS JROTC cadets earn their wings

October 1, 2014

Two cadets from the Jay HS JROTC competed against 35 other JROTC cadets from across San Antonio in a rigorous and prestigious program and rose to the top. Cadet Lt Col Megan Langas and Cadet Major Giuseppe Priola were selected for the Cadet Flight Incentive Program (CFIP), a distinguished Flight School Training Program located in New Braunfels.

The pair attended the rigorous six-week program which included two weeks of ground school and four weeks of flight training. At the end of the program, both cadets completed their solo flights including take off, planned flight patterns, and landing.

For their efforts, the two students were awarded their “Flight Wings” at a special awards ceremony sponsored by the Order of the Daedallions, a highly decorated group of former Air Force, Navy, Marine, and Army pilots. They also received scholarships and pilot jackets for their achievement.
