Northside ISD will host two Affordable Care Act community meetings in collaboration with the Alamo Area Council of Governments.
The first meeting is scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 2, and the second meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 7. Both meetings will be held in Building F of the Northside Learning Center, 6632 Bandera Road.
Each session is called “It’s Not Too Late- Getting Health Insurance Coverage through the Marketplace.” Presenter Donna Teall from AACOG will talk to participants about the Health Insurance Marketplace, who is eligible, and how to enroll. Those interested in attending do not need to sign up in advance.
As of October 1, persons 18 and above who do not have medical health insurance are able to sign up for qualified health plans through the Health Insurance Marketplace. Information can be found at www.healthcare.gov or by calling the Health Insurance Marketplace Call Center at 1-800-318-2596. There are a variety of health plans available and consumers can select the plan that is best for them based on their income, medical needs, and medications.
Informational brochures and marketplace application checklists are available in English and Spanish.
