Two Northside ISD PTAs have been named 2015-2017 National PTA Schools of Excellence. Murnin Elementary School and Pease Middle School are among 124 schools from across the country to receive this special designation, and are the only schools in San Antonio to receive it.

Last night, Trustees discussed and took action on several items: approved the attendance zone for Fields ES, recognized Pease MS and Murnin ES as National PTA Schools of Excellence, and appointed department and campus administrators.
WATCH D.O.G.S. (Dads of Great Students) is a one-of-a-kind, school-based father involvement, educational initiative of the National Center of Fathering. The organization has two goals: to provide positive male role models, and to provide extra sets of eyes and ears to enhance school security and reduce bullying.
Clark High School students visited the Great Barrier Reef, Yosemite National Park, and ancient Greece all without leaving their classrooms. The 450 students used virtual field trip simulation technology, called Google Expeditions, that is currently being piloted by Google across the country.

The annual NISD College Night will be held Monday, Nov. 2 from 6-8:30 p.m. drawing more than 140 colleges and universities from across the nation.

Did you know that pigs like marshmallows? It is one of the many fun facts that NISD fourth graders learn during “Ag in Action” held annually at O’Connor HS.
