The 21st annual Los Leones Student Arts Festival, presented by Jefferson Bank, has something for everyone and promises to be the most exciting show yet. The entire show has been created to center around the 11 rural schools that served as the "roots" of Northside ISD.

On January 16, NISD closed schools due to bad weather conditions and safety considerations. Due to state law and the required 75,600 minutes of instruction time needed each year, that day will need to be made up.
Responding to the need for maintenance of existing facilities, additional learning space, and safety and security upgrades, the NISD Board of Trustees voted unanimously (7-0) Tuesday night to place a $848.9 million bond issue on the May 5 ballot.

For 45 years, the Walter Gerlach Livestock Show and Sale has been a Northside ISD tradition that has quietly raised nearly $16 million in college scholarships for students. This year’s event will again draw hundreds of students and livestock bidders with 823 entries.

In 2017, Northside ISD hit an all-time high in enrollment, added more than 650 new teachers, opened two new schools, and more than 6,700 students received diplomas in 12 commencement ceremonies. The Class of 2017 earned more than $127 million in college scholarships and 46,018 hours of college credit.

“Who is patient?” asked Warren High School culinary arts teacher Dawn Hoyack. “They will be the ones most successful at making crepes.” The question was posed to a group of Club LT students from Jordan Middle School as they gathered in the Warren kitchen for a lesson on crepe-making.
