Learning Tree's Summer Camp will be held June 5 - August 4 at six locations:
Carnahan ES, Driggers ES, Forester ES, Franklin ES, Helotes ES and Wanke ES.
Learning Tree Summer Camp Questions
What is the cost?
Tuition is $120 per week, per child. There is a $25 non-refundable/non-transferable deposit per week, per child which is required at the time of registration. There are no registration, field trip, or supply fees. Discounts may be available to existing Learning Tree clients.
How many spaces are available?
All sites will be capped at 144 slots.
How will students be grouped?
We are only accepting students who are currently enrolled in school in grades K - 8 during the 2016-17 school year. Elementary students will be grouped with their own grade level and sometimes the next higher grade level, for accommodation purposes (example: K-1, 2-3, and 4-5). Middle school students will be grouped with the highest elementary grade level group (4-5 or 5).
What are the drop off and pick up times?
The camps will be open from 7 AM - 6:30 PM daily. Children may be dropped off and picked up at any time during these hours, with the exception of field trip days. Students must check in before the designated departure time of each field trip. Departure times will be listed in our calendar of activities and field trips.
What will the schedule look like?
We will have a full schedule including camp songs, hands-on learning activities, student choice centers, recreation, and field trips. The schedule is currently being finalized, and all parents will be provided with a calendar of activities and field trips. Field trips will be taken once per week and there is no extra cost for any of the trips.
What does my child need to bring to camp?
On a daily basis, children must bring their own lunch, snacks, and a water bottle. Driggers ES and Forester ES camps are NISD Summer Feeding Sites and will have breakfast and lunch provided as part of the Seamless Summer Option (SSO).
What if I do not want my child to attend a specific field trip?
Unfortunately, no staff will remain on-site during field trip days. Students must check in before the designated departure time of each field trip. Departure times will be listed in our calendar of activities and field trips.
How are enrollments and payments being handled?
Parents may enroll for one week or all nine weeks of camp. A $25 non-refundable/non-transferable deposit per week/per child, is due at the time of enrollment. Remaining payment for the week is expected no later than the Monday prior to the week of service (example: reamining payment for the week of June 5 - 9 is due on Monday May 29.) If payment is not made by midnight on the respective Monday, your child's registration will be dropped for the intended week of service. Our office is available on Tuesday to assist parents with re-activation pending space availability. Payments are accepted online or you may pay in person at our main office by cash, check or money order.
Where do I make payments?
No payments can be accepted at the camp sites. You may make payments online. To make an in-person payment, please come to the Learning Tree office, 6632 Bandera Rd., Building D. Beginning June 5, summer payments hours will be 7:30 AM - 4:30 PM, Monday - Thursday and 8 AM - noon on Fridays. The Learning Tree office will be closed on Friday afternoons during the summer in observation of NISD summer hours.
