April marks the nation’s Month of the Military Child. As a way to honor military youth affected by deployment, school district employees and students across the state are encouraged to wear purple on Thursday, April 6, as part of “Purple Up! for Military Kids.”
Once again, Northside is expecting a large kindergarten enrollment for the upcoming school year, making it all the more critical that parents register their children during Kinder Roundup in order to secure a seat at their neighborhood school. More than 7,500 kindergarten students are expected to enroll for the 2017-18 school year.

Similar to the San Antonio Spurs chasing a 6th championship, NEF has a "Race for Seis" of its own. NEF's goal is to have 6,000 people come out to the 5K in support of Northside ISD faculty, staff and students. Proceeds raised at the event are disbursed to NISD employees in the form of resource, innovation and team grants to help supplement classroom and department enrichment. As the District grows, more and more resources are needed to provide innovative programs to more than 103,000 students. This is NEF's mission. Help us be champions for NISD in our race for 6,000!
School-Business-Community Partners can help make a huge splash for NEF. Here are sponsorship opportunities that will benefit NISD students and staff. Be a sponsor! For more info., please contact the NISD Partnerships Office at 210-397-8599.
