I am Health Careers Proud

...because we ended our September 2015 blood drive with 101 life-saving units!

...because an HCHS student placed first in Knowledge Nutrition at the National HOSA Leadership Conference over the summer of 2015.

...because our Filipino Culture Club supports the Ronald McDonald House with homemade Filipino food and collects soda tabs for their recycling program.

...because HCHS Latin students earned TEN first place awards and FORTY-FIVE top 5 awards at the 2015 National Junior Classical League Convention held at Trinity University.

...because our Latin students have won the First Place Upper Division Team Sweepstakes Award nine years in a row at the Texas State Junior Classical League Convention.

...because students from all over Bexar county and over 55 middle schools apply to attend HCHS.

...because one HCHS student has a first-author publication which was accepted by the XSEDE Conference in St. Louis. He won a travel grant to present his paper for an audience of computer scientists and people working with supercomputers.

...because our Scientific Research and Design students perform research and develop highly technical lab skills at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. Each year students may participate in the BBC conference and earn participatory authorship in professional posters or publications.

...because the entire junior class has completed the Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers CPR course.

...because all 11 of our health care science teachers hold industry licenses, and teach health care courses at the college level.

...because 42 graduates in 2015 passed the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board exam to become certified pharmacy technicians.

...because we have had over 2500 individual student check-ins at the HCHS Library since the school year started.

...because our Algebra 1 EOC pass rate was 100% for 2014-2015.

...because our Varsity Phoenix Tennis team, through exceptional hard work and discipline, is heading into the NISD team District Tournament in 3rd place, marking the 14th consecutive year of finishing in the top 4. Only one other school in NISD can make a similar claim. Go Team Phoenix!
