Thursday, June 6, 2013 is the last day of school for all students attending classes in Northside ISD. Students will start a summer vacation which will extend until Monday, August 26, 2103. During this time off, we would like parents to encourage their children to continue working on their academics while on vacation by reading. Daily math and reading activities will help your child continue to exercise their brain and ensure they do not lose much of they have learned. 30 to 40 minutes of daily reading and another 30 to 40 minutes of math activities will go a long way towards keeping your academic skills sharp.
During this long vacation, children should also get outside and get active. Daily physical exercise and good nutrition are all important in maintaining a healthy body and, in turn, a healthy brain. Get involved! Get active! Stay sharp!
