Join us for Garcia Community Art Night! The event takes place Friday, December 7 from 4:30pm-6:00pm in the Garcia Middle School cafeteria. This event is free for all ages and has been sponsored by HGMS art teachers, students, and parents. There will be face painting, concessions, and even cookie decorating! Some of the art projects scheduled include ornament painting, origami lessons, splat painting, and even pictionary. We look forward to seeing you there!
It's that time for spring baseball and softball to begin. Northside Suburban Little League, NSLL, would love to have any and all girls and boys from ages 4 -18 interested in playing to get registered early with the league. To register for the spring season, please contact:

Garcia will be having a Poinsettia sale from October 24 until November 2 benefiting the HGMS library. Plants cost $15.00 each. Flyers were shared with students this week, and orders with payment should be returned to the library by November 2nd. Delivery is expected after Thanksgiving break and the arrival date will be posted here.

Every October, schools and organizations across the country join STOMP Out Bullying™ in observing National Bullying Prevention Month. The goal is to encourage communities to work together to stop bullying and cyberbullying by increasing awareness of the prevalence and impact of bullying on all children of all ages.

On this day students, schools, and communities all over the world wear BLUE to say no to bullying. It also kicks off National Bullying Prevention Awareness Month.
Parents and students are invited to attend an important presentation about online safety. Privacy and Predators is a presentation for students and parents led by Kelly Newcom, the founder of Brave Parenting. This special event will be held in the Garcia Middle School cafeteria on Monday, September 17 from 6:00-7:30pm. Any student that attends may wear their PE shorts to school on Tuesday, September 18!
The Northside ISD Council of PTAs recognized Dr. Hector Garcia Middle School's PTA on May 3 with the Outstanding PTA award. The PTA was also distiguished with four additional honors: Headstart Award, Welcome Back Award, XOX Award, and the Mars Award. We thank our wonderful parents for the countless hours of time invested in our students and school. Their participation is very much recognized and appreciated as they support the education of each of our students.

This service saves time as your student can receive on-the-spot care in your neighborhood. A variety of services from Texas Health Steps to sick visits, counseling and education, are all covered, and the healthyUexpress accepts private insurance, CHIP, Medicaid and CareLink. This service, provided by Children's Health of University Health System will be at Garcia Middle School on Tuesday, April 24, 2018 from 1:00 - 5:30pm while supplies last.
Join us in the Garcia MS cafeteria this Monday, April 9 from 6:00 - 7:30pm. Learn about the upcoming bond election, followed by our campus summer activity fair! Parents attending this event will recieve a wristband for their student to wear gym shorts to school on Tuesday, April 10. The table below includes some of the camps and activity tables that will be at the fair. We look forward to seeing you there!
Garcia Middle School is very proud to celebrate Isaac Esquivel as Northside's Middle School Teacher of the Year! His dedication to our students and campus was recognized by the district last night, Wednesday, March 7 at the Teacher of the Year ceremony. Isaac's accepance of the award is available on YouTube for those who were unable to attend.

As you know, NEF partners with hundreds of families, sponsors, and vendors to support its mission of generating more resources for NISD faculty and staff to provide innovative educational programs to more than 106,000 students.
