David Nanny, Theatre Supervisor

 David Nanny is currently serving as the Theatre Arts Supervisor for Northside ISD.  Previous to his work in administration, David taught Theatre Arts at Jack C. Jordan Middle School and both Technical Theatre and Theatre Arts at Earl Warren High School.  He celebrated much success at Warren by having several award winning productions and directed many Best Actor and Best Actress award winners.   David also served as the Fine Arts Department Coordinator at Warren High School. Mr. Nanny  was recognized for his commitment to his students several times throughout his time in the classroom, including being named Warren Teacher of the Year in 2008.  David holds a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre Arts from Angelo State University and a Master of Arts in Theatre Arts Education from the University of Houston.   While at UH, David received training at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London, Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts in New York, and the Steppenwolf Theatre and The Actor’s Studio in Chicago.   He also obtained a Master of Education in Educational Leadership from The University of Texas at San Antonio.

David is an active member of the Texas Educational Theatre Association, the Texas Theatre Administrators Conference, and Texas Educational Theatre Adjudicators and Officials.

David is also active in the San Antonio Theatre Community where he volunteers his time as an actor and director with The Public Theater and Ethics Follies.  He is also a member of the Public Theater Ovation Society which provides continued support to The Public Theater of San Antonio.

David is happily married and has a daughter who attends Northside schools.
