NISD Fine Arts recently hosted Grammy Career Day at Stevens High School. GRAMMY in the Schools offers Career Day as a way to introduce the less visible world of music careers behind artists’ radio hits and sold-out tours. Northside ISD Fine Arts was selected to host Grammy Career Day. Students from all eleven comprehensive high schools had the opportunity to spend the day learning from professionals who earn a living in the music industry. Those leading the discussions ranged from artists and tour managers to music attorneys and digital marketers. Speakers visited with the students about what they do, how they got started, and the steps that these young people can take to do it, too. Presenters for Career Day included GRAMMY winners and nominees, and professionals in related disciplines. These sessions took students through the inner workings of the industry to learn exactly what it takes to make it in the business. The full day of interactive workshops concluded with a concert presented by Mobley.
