James Hare, Supervisor of Vocal Music K-12

James Hare graduated from Texas Tech University, where he earned a Bachelor of Music Education and completed graduate studies in Choral Conducting. He is currently pursuing a Masters in Education Administration from Lamar University.

James is the Supervisor of Vocal Music (K-12) for Northside Independent School District in San Antonio, Texas. James taught extensively at both the middle school and high school levels, including appointments in Northside ISD, North East ISD, Marble Falls ISD, Lubbock ISD and Hobbs (NM) ISD. His choirs consistently received “Superior” and “Sweepstakes” awards at University Interscholastic League music contests and have performed in Texas, New Mexico, Colorado, Florida, New York and Cozumel (Mexico).

James serves the Texas Music Educators Association as the Region 29 President. He previously filled roles as the Region 11 President and Vocal Division Chair and has been the Host for many Region Auditions, Clinics and Concerts. The Clark HS Chorale was featured as a Clinic Demonstration Choir at the TMEA Conventions in 2009 and 2014.

James is a member of the Texas Music Educators Association, Texas Choral Directors Association, American Choral Directors Association, Texas Music Adjudicators Association, Texas Music Administrators Conference, Central Texas Orff Association and American Orff-Schulwerk Association. He performs with the Ken Davis Chorale and the San Antonio Chamber Choir. He and his wife, Kelly, are the busy parents of 6 children.
