Denise Hernandez, Supervisors' Secretary

Denise Hernandez is a product of Northside ISD, with 22 years both in NISD schools and now with the Fine Arts department.  She was head drum major at Holmes/Business Careers both her junior and senior year before attending college at Baylor University. She is currently finishing her degree in public administration and is planning to achieve her Master’s degree in Urban Planning and Policy. She is a graduating fellow of New Leaders Council – San Antonio, and works around the San Antonio area in education equity and related issues. She was selected to give a TEDx talk in March of 2016 about implicit biases and how they affect our society. 

Denise was hired to work in the Fine Arts department in November of 2011. She is the administrative assistant for Elizabeth Sanchez-Lopez, Dr. Charlsey Sharon Chumley, David Nanny, and James Hare.
