Dear Ellison Families,
The 2014-15 school year will soon be here, and I cannot wait to meet your children and you. My selection as Principal of Bonnie Ellison Elementary is a dream come true!
I'm a proud graduate of Texas A&M University where I earned my Bachelor of Science in Curriculum and Instruction with a specialization in Reading in 1989. Upon completion of my Master of Arts in Educational Leadership at the University of Texas San Antonio in 2003, I helped open Dr. Joe Ward Elementary as a new Vice Principal. In 2006, I transitioned to Patricia J. Blattman Elementary as Vice Principal and have been privileged to serve as Principal since 2008.
With twenty-three years of teaching and administrative experience, I feel prepared and excited to begin the process of developing and establishing our school as one of excellence. Our namesake, Mrs. Bonnie Ellison, worked tirelessly to serve the Northside community and will be my inspiration to serve with the same high level of commitment and determination.
My goal is to ensure your children receive outstanding classroom instruction and create joyful memories they can look back on with pride. This will take all of us working together to establish a strong community of support and a climate of mutual trust.
Our inaugural class will have the rare opportunity to help establish traditions that will become a legacy for future students. To begin, I will meet with our Ellison students on their current home campuses later this spring to get their input on a school mascot and school colors. I can’t wait to meet them!
Please regularly visit our campus website at http://www.nisd.net/ellison/ to stay informed of progress and opportunities to make connections. I’m looking forward to this exciting journey with you!
