Lowes awards CCA with a $25,000 grant. The grant was awarded at this years Tiny House Showcase. The grant will be used to help fund next years build and showcase the home at 2017/2018 SkillsUSA competition. Congratulations to our students and staff.

Operation Tiny Home purchased one of the CCA student built homes and donated it to a wounded veteran. Combat veteran Freddy Rosario was the recipient of the home. Co-host of Tiny House Nation, Zach Giffin, in partnership with Operation Tiny Home conducted a "Building a Better Future Workshop", hosted by CCA, for veterans in the San Antonio area.

As part of the Tiny Home Showcase event(s) the homes are judged by a team of industry partners and NISD staff. The results are in and the winners have been declared. No spoiler alerts here though!! This Saturday, May 20th, is the CCA Tiny Homes Showcase. Winners and awards will be showcased at the event. For more pictures of judging day click here.

CCA Plumbing Students Earn College Credit and walk the stage at St. Philip's graduation ceremony. Twelve students in the plumbing strand earn college credit and are awarded their plumbing certificate from St. Philip's College. Of the twelve three were honored at the St. Philips graduation.

IES Residential Sponsors CCA Student John Michael Lim. John Michael is headed to compete in Skills USA Nationals in electrical wiring. The event is held in Louisville Kentucky. IES awarded Construction Careers Academy $1867.00 to sponsor John Michael’s trip. Congratulations!!

CCA ACE Mentorship team present final project to a panel of judges. The panel consisted of community businessmen throughout the region. Students converged on the UTSA downtown campus. Students developed a project proposal to design and construct a fire station for the San Antonio Fire Department to be located on Austin Highway.

As part of CCA's ongoing mission to prepare students for post high school readiness students participated in the first annual CCA mock interview initiative. As part of the initiative students went through resume writing and interview training. Students used the skills learned in a mock interview setting. Over 190 students were interviewed.
