Construction Careers Academy students are encouraged to participate in extracurricular activities. On average, 85 percent of the Academy’s students are involved in extracurricular activities to include but not limited to athletics, ROTC, and fine arts (i.e. band, theater, choir, dance, etc). Through participation in extracurricular activities the Academy is committed to providing students with a rich and fulfilling experience. The Academy partners with Warren High School to provide students with a comprehensive and rewarding experience through the incorporation of these extracurricular activities.
Students should know that participating in extracurricular activities, no matter which high school they attend, requires more demands on their time and greater sacrifice. We encourage students to partner with their parents, teachers, counselor, and administrators to develop quality time management skills.
IMPORTANT NOTE: According to UIL policy, once enrolled in a magnet program, if the student leaves the magnet school to attend the school of the parents’ residence or any other high school, the student is not eligible for varsity athletic competition for one calendar year.
