The Northside School of Innovation, Technology, and Entrepreneurship (NSITE), located on the Holmes High School campus, is the state’s premier business and technology magnet school. Formerly known as Business Careers HS, this technology-rich, college preparatory program, issues each student a laptop computer enabling them to expand the learning environment beyond the traditional classroom.
A school within a school, NSITE offers an enriched and focused curriculum to prepare students with the knowledge and skills to be successful in college and in the business world. The NSITE curriculum offers a variety of challenging business and technology courses as well as Pre-AP, AP, and Dual Credit courses.
NSITE also offers opportunities for students to earn industry-standard certifications including: Microsoft Office, A+, CCNA, Adobe, Oracle, IC3, LINUX+, Network +, HTML5/CSS3, Java Script Specialist, and many more. Students have the opportunity to participate in business-related and college field trips, paid internships, and to hear from guest speakers from universities as well as local business leaders. Additionally, students have the opportunity to participate in one of the state’s largest career-based high school mentor programs.
NSITE students choose their field of study within three strands: Entrepreneurship, Computer Programming, and Cybersecurity. All NSITE students will participate in a senior capstone course in which the run their own virtual business, assume jobs within their company, and participate in business competitions and trade shows.
NSITE students can also participate in Holmes High School athletics, band, JROTC, as well as many other school activities and student organizations.
By following the NSITE curriculum, students will take courses that lead to a Business and Industry diploma endorsement. In addition to this endorsement, students may earn any of the other diploma endorsements depending on other credits earned before graduation.
