There is nothing like getting your hands on a great science activity. 5th graderss got to do that recently at Brauchle's Wild About STAAR Night on April 16th. Students classified and measured insects, made slime (Is it solid or liquid?), and mined for fossil fuels. Other activities for 5th graders included a reflection/refraction lab, and weathering chocolate, then putting it through the rock cycle. We are not sure who enjoyed the experience more, the teachers or the students. We LOVE Science!
