Board of Trustees

Elected by the people to govern Northside Schools, Trustees are the guardians of the public trust and, through the policies they make, are ultimately responsible for our schools. This responsibility and the accessibility of Trustees to the voters make the Board one of the purest examples of democracy in our society.

Northside Trustees represent about 208,000 households located in 355 square miles in northwest Bexar County and parts of Medina and Bandera counties. Northside continues to be the “destination” district in San Antonio for many families seeking a quality school system for their children and for employees seeking a quality place to work.

The 82nd Legislative Session begins Jan. 11, and of the roughly 7,000 bills that will be introduced, about a quarter of them will be related to education. In addition, school districts stand to lose a significant amount of state funding as legislators grapple with a huge budget deficit.

The Northside ISD Board of Trustees is seeking nominations for the name of a new elementary school scheduled to open in 2012. The nomination deadline for the school, now referred to as "Bandera Road North area" Elementary School, is Jan. 14, 2011.

A counselor, an engineer, an educator, a former governor, and a U.S. Supreme Court justice were honored as the namesakes for Northside ISD's five newest schools. In addition, the formal open house for the new Construction Careers Academy (CCA) at Warren High School was held.
