Board of Trustees

Elected by the people to govern Northside Schools, Trustees are the guardians of the public trust and, through the policies they make, are ultimately responsible for our schools. This responsibility and the accessibility of Trustees to the voters make the Board one of the purest examples of democracy in our society.

Northside Trustees represent about 208,000 households located in 355 square miles in northwest Bexar County and parts of Medina and Bandera counties. Northside continues to be the “destination” district in San Antonio for many families seeking a quality school system for their children and for employees seeking a quality place to work.

The Northside ISD School Board called an election for four Trustee positions to be held on Saturday, May 9, 2015. Seats up for election are Single Member Districts 1 through 4, currently held by George Lynn Britton, Jr., Bennie L. Cole, M’Lissa M. Chumbley, and Robert Blount, Jr., respectively.

Northside ISD is holding a Custodial/Maintenance Job Fair to fill more than 60 fulltime positions with benefits for custodians, assistant head custodians, head custodians, and maintenance positions.

In a bold move to better prepare students for studies beyond high school, the Northside ISD Board of Trustees approved $308,000 to pay for the SAT college entrance exam to be offered to all of NISD’s juniors. The test will be administered on Wednesday, April 15.  A potential 7,000+ juniors would be tested.

Northside ISD is holding a Transportation Job Fair to fill more than 100 positions for bus drivers from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 25 at the Culebra Transportation Station, 7001 Culebra Road.
