Board of Trustees

Elected by the people to govern Northside Schools, Trustees are the guardians of the public trust and, through the policies they make, are ultimately responsible for our schools. This responsibility and the accessibility of Trustees to the voters make the Board one of the purest examples of democracy in our society.

Northside Trustees represent about 208,000 households located in 355 square miles in northwest Bexar County and parts of Medina and Bandera counties. Northside continues to be the “destination” district in San Antonio for many families seeking a quality school system for their children and for employees seeking a quality place to work.

The Northside Education Foundation (NEF) ends its Annual Pledge Drive on Oct. 2 with some new exciting changes for the campaign. Anyone who donates $100 or more will join the Cornerstone Club and receive a Cornerstone Club plaque.

Celebrating its 20th year, the Northside Education Foundation (NEF) will recognize six outstanding NISD graduates as Pillars of Character at its annual gala. These six outstanding graduates include philanthropists, a military musician, a cutting-edge surgeon, multi-tasking physician, and a former intelligence officer.

A sea of bright blue t-shirts filled the neighborhoods near Ross MS, and Esparza, Linton, Martin, Powell, and Villarreal elementary schools as 500 teachers took to the streets for the fourth annual Community Block Walk.

Construction Careers Academy finished its second year of student-built small homes. They ended the 2014-15 school year with a Parade of Homes that featured three shipping containers turned into homes. Click here to see the video highlights.

Around 105,000 students and 7,200 teachers headed back to the classroom when 117 schools opened their doors on Monday. Joining the District is Herbert G. Boldt Elementary School. Boldt is the 75th elementary school in NISD.
