Board of Trustees

Elected by the people to govern Northside Schools, Trustees are the guardians of the public trust and, through the policies they make, are ultimately responsible for our schools. This responsibility and the accessibility of Trustees to the voters make the Board one of the purest examples of democracy in our society.

Northside Trustees represent about 208,000 households located in 355 square miles in northwest Bexar County and parts of Medina and Bandera counties. Northside continues to be the “destination” district in San Antonio for many families seeking a quality school system for their children and for employees seeking a quality place to work.

Northside voters Saturday approved a $848.91 million bond issue that will allow the District to address much-needed improvements at existing schools and to continue to keep pace with growth.

University Health System is offering a convenient way for parents to stay up-to-date with their child’s immunizations, flu shots, and prepare for college vaccination requirements. They will dispatch a mobile clinic to 12 NISD campuses in May.

The $848.9 million School Bond 2018 proposal, which would impact every NISD school, goes before voters this Saturday, May 5 and polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Voters must vote at their specific precinct which is determined by home address.

Exploring virtual reality through apps, using Chromebooks and iPads to create movies and daily news broadcasts, and building tiny homes to explore future careers in construction. Northside schools are finding unique ways to engage students in learning and an annual event allows students and teachers to share the successes from their campuses.

Northside ISD is projecting more than 2,400 students to register in Pre-Kindergarten, a program for four-year-old children offered in 70 elementary schools for next year. Registration for Pre-Kindergarten begins May 1 at neighborhood schools during normal school hours.

On May 5, the $848.91 million Northside School Bond 2018 proposal will go before voters. Early voting runs from April 23 to May 1 and several early voting sites are located in Northside ISD.
