Board of Trustees

Elected by the people to govern Northside Schools, Trustees are the guardians of the public trust and, through the policies they make, are ultimately responsible for our schools. This responsibility and the accessibility of Trustees to the voters make the Board one of the purest examples of democracy in our society.

Northside Trustees represent about 208,000 households located in 355 square miles in northwest Bexar County and parts of Medina and Bandera counties. Northside continues to be the “destination” district in San Antonio for many families seeking a quality school system for their children and for employees seeking a quality place to work.

University Health System is offering a convenient way for parents to avoid long lines and stay up-to-date with their child’s immunizations. They will dispatch a mobile clinic to 13 NISD campuses in August.

Last night, Trustees discussed and took action on several items:  appointed several campus administrators, including one new principal and approved the renewal of UnitedHealthcare as the District’s medical insurance provider for 2019.

The Northside Learning Tree After School Enrichment Program is seeking outgoing, energetic, and positive role models to fill approximately 100 part-time Youth Leader Instructor positions. Interested applicants should stop by the Learning Tree Job Fair on Monday, Aug. 6 from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Northside Learning Center, 6632 Bandera Road, Building D.

Last night, Trustees discussed and took action on several items: approved a Growth & Improvement Budget and Compensation Plan for 2018-2019, which includes salary raises for all employees; approved the 2019-2020 school year calendar; signed a Code of Ethics, reaffirming their commitment to adhere to ethical and educational standards; and appointed several campus administrators, including three principals.

Northside ISD will open one new elementary school when classes resume on Aug. 27. Dr. Linda Mora Elementary School will join the 119 other schools that make up South Texas’ largest school district. The new logo joined the NISD family of school mascots

It might be summer but school zones are in effect through the beginning of August, although the times are slightly altered. Many Northside ISD campuses are used for either summer school programs or as drop off/pick up sites for students.

June 11, 2018

More than 6,700 seniors will don caps and gowns and collect their diplomas at one of 11 commencements being held for all Northside ISD high schools. The graduations will be streamed live on the Internet.
