Abilene Christian University Honor's College Summer Program
f you’re the kind of student who thinks learning is fun, who wants summer activities that stimulate the brain cells, who enjoys exploring ideas that engage your curiosity and spark your creativity, then join us for a week (or two, or three!) of fun and challenging courses that test your creative thinking and earn you college credit.

Camp GenTX 2013
Aimed at helping high school students prepare for a successful transition into college, Generation TX San Antonio is taking applications from all incoming Bexar County high school juniors and seniors for a chance to see what it’s really like to live on a college campus! Camp GenTX is a FREE three-day camp where students spend the night at a Trinity University dorm, eat meals in the campus dining facility and attend workshops focusing on becoming a successful college student.

Investigative Journalism Workshop
The two-week workshop will give participants hands-on training in investigative reporting and the chance to work on investigative stories that could be published. Students will spend two weeks on the BU campus participating in investigative reporting seminars led by university faculty and award-winning local and national journalists.

"News Know How"
San Antonio Public Library is currently accepting applications for its “News Know-how” program, a two-week media literacy program for teens grades 10 -12.  There are 15 participant openings and the program will run July 22 – August 2, 2013 at Central Library.Applications will be accepted through May 25, 2013. All participants must commit to the full two weeks and complete a final team project due in November. The 15 selected participants will receive a small stipend. Camp GenTx
FREE three-day camp where students spend the night at a Trinity University dorm, eat meals in the campus dining facility, hear lectures in a college class atmosphere and attend workshops focusing on becoming a successful college student. It's a really awesome experience for students, especially those in most need of resources and exposure to college opportunities. Camp GenTX is at Trinity University from July 8 – 10, 2013.

2013 High School Latino Leaders Program
Selected participants will travel to Washington, D.C. during the week of July 14 - 19, 2013, to gain expansive knowledge about our democratic process, engage with Latino community leaders, and explore the nation’s capital. HSLLDC is FREE for participants and is made possible through the generous support of founding sponsor State Farm Insurance, Southwest Airlines (the Official Airline Sponsor of CHCI's 2013 Leadership Development Programs), and regional supporters.

Society of American Military Engineer's (SAME) annual Engineering & Construction Camps

Summer Programs for Diversity
Summer Programs for Diversity are additional opportunities geared toward underrepresented high school rising seniors to participate in Carnegie Mellon's Pre-College Summer Programs: Advanced Placement/Early Admission (APEA), fine arts programs in architecture, art and design, drama, or music, or the National High School Game Academy. If selected, students will attend the program with no cost for tuition, housing, or dining. However, students must cover the costs of their textbooks, supplies, transportation and recreational expenses.

Summer Academy for Mathematics and Science 
SAMS is a six-week, intensive, residential summer program geared toward underrepresented high school rising junior and rising seniors who are interested in studying the technical fields in college. The program is designed for good, hard working students who have an interest in math and science. SAMS participants will have opportunities to be involved in hands-on projects in the science and engineering fields, as well as experience the traditional classroom experience. If selected, students will attend the program with no cost for tuition, housing, or dining. The Perry Outreach Program
is a free, one-day, hands-on experience for high school and college-aged women who are interested in pursuing careers in medicine and engineering. Students will hear from women leaders in these fields and try it for themselves by performing mock orthopaedic surgeries and biomechanics experiments.

Located in St. Louis, they offer two programs. The Summer Scholars program allows students to get a head start on the full college experience, taking two college courses while living on campus for five weeks

2013 Summer Career Academy
in Architecture and Interior Design

Students will explore career options in architecture and interior design as well as
develop some basic skills in design, sketching, and model construction, through daily tutorials, group
discussions, visiting lectures, films, and field trips guided by faculty of the College of Architecture. While this
program prepares a student with knowledge of college programs it does not offer college level course credit.
Students finishing the course will receive a Certificate of Completion for submission in a college application.

NASA Aerospace Scholars Program
An interactive online learning experience highlighted by a weeklong internship. Selected students are encouraged to study mathematics, science, engineering and computer science by interacting with engineers at NASA's Johnson Space Center. The project includes preliminary interactive Web-based activities, distance learning and a residential experience during the summer at JSC. From across the state of Texas, students are selected to participate by their state legislator through a competitive process. Selected students are Texas residents and U.S. citizens currently in their junior year of high school (rising seniors) with an interest and aptitude for mathematics, science, engineering or computer science.

The Voelcker Biomedical Research Academy partners the very best rising sophomores with outstanding biomedical scientists from the UT Health Science Center to promote excellence in scholarship and biomedical research training for a 3-year period. PREP Program
Students will share experiences with other students in the Greater San Antonio Area who are also committed to learning. Their journey will begin on a college campus and will continue through the summer. They will meet professionals in the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics who will share their experiences and knowledge about possible future careers. The program is challenging - but rewarding! Plus, high school elective credit is awarded by school districts for the successful completion of each summer of PREP
