Certain colleges that require the SAT I also require the SAT II for placement purposes. Applications for these tests are in the Career Center. However, it is recommended that you register online because you will receive a quicker response. If you are mailing the application, you are responsible for mailing it with your check to the testing company approximately 6 weeks before the test is to be given.

ACT
The ACT Assessment measures skills in English, math, reading, and science reasoning. This test will measure skills necessary for college courseware. The test is scored from 1 - 36 in each subject area, averaged for a composite score. A 36 is the highest possible composite score. Applications for all of these tests are available in the Counseling Center. You are responsible for mailing the application with your check to the testing company approximately 6 weeks before the test is to be given.

THEA
The new name for the TASP Test is the THEA Test. This is the test required for entry into Texas public universities. Many two year colleges will accept scores for THEA, but will also accept scores for various alternate assessments. Please contact your college of interest for more information about the alternate assessments.

TAAS
All students who entered high school in 2000-2001 must meet TAAS requirements in order to graduate.* Students who have not passed all areas of the test will need to retake those areas. The TAAS test will take place October 21 through 23, 2003. All students testing should receive an invitation during the class day the week before the test. If you are not notified by your counselor or academic dean by October 17th, please come to the Counseling Office on that day. If you are planning to graduate in May or August of 2004, make sure you meet the TAAS requirements.
* TAAS requirements include:
End of Course Exam exemption: Students must pass the EOC's for 1) Algebra I, 2)English 2 and 3) either Biology or U.S. History.
OR
Passing all areas of the TAAS exam (Reading, Writing and Math)
Some students who are in Special Education may be exempt from the TAAS requirement.

EOC
All students who entered high school in 2011-2012 must meet EOC requirements in order to graduate.* They will take the test that correlates with the class they are currently receiving instruction in.
