Philosophy Athletes at Warren are encouraged to participate in as many sports as they can academically handle. They will never be made to choose one sport over another. What sport the athlete chooses to participate is left to them. The coaches do encourage all incoming freshman to try out for all the sports so they get a chance to experience all of them at the high school level. |
Expectations All girls participating in athletics are expected to follow guidelines pertaining to dress, attendance, discipline, academics, and work ethic. A conditioning camp known as Champ Camp is offered to help you improve your physical strength and agility which will enhance your skill. Each sport has their own expectations and guidelines and these can be found on the link above to their sport. |
Eligibility All athletes are expected and must maintain a grade above 69 in every class to be eligible for competition. These grades are checked frequently by each coach and a parent also has the ability to check their child's grade through Parent Connection. |
Paperwork Every athlete must complete UIL yearly paperwork and have it on file with the athletic trainer before they will be allowed to dress out and participate in athletics (this includes off season). All freshman must have a new physical to enter high school then another is required for their junior year. These packets are available from the trainers, coaching office and the front office. |
Athletic Periods Each athlete is expected to be in the athletic period for their sport throughout the entire year. Below you will find the breakdown of when each sport has their athletic period |
1st Period Athletics Varsity and JV Volleyball --------Varsity and JV Basketball Varsity Swimming and Water Polo |
8th Period Athletics Varsity and JV Softball Varsity and JV Soccer Freshman Volleyball -----Freshman Basketball Varsity and JV Tennis ----Varsity and JV Track Golf -----JV Swimming and Diving |
| If an athlete plays more than one sport, the athlete will be enrolled in the sport who's season begins first the next year. Coaches will then help you proceed to the next sport. Multi-sport athletes will be able to try out for the next sport at the completion of their season with no adverse consequences. An additional try out is held for those athletes coming out of one sport and going into another. |
Our first team to reach the state playoffs but not our last! |
