Goal Board Night is November 14th!

Come have fun with your child at our 7 Habits Goal Board Family Night on November 14th in the Wanke Cafeteria! The event will be from 5:30-7:00pm, but it will only take about 30 minutes to "Be Proactive" by creating a Goal Board with your child.  This is a great opportunity for you to "Synergize" together by setting goals and having a plan.  Students will "Begin with the End in Mind" by choosing 1 personal goal (home) and 1 professional goal (school) that they would like to accomplish this school year.  The Goal Board will be provided by the school.  Bring photos, pictures from magazines, clip art, or drawings to represent those goals along with items to decorate your board, such as glitter, jewels, stickers, etc.  We're looking forward to seeing you have lots of fun while "Sharpening your Saw"!

Please Help Us Keep Your Children Safe!

Our policy is that parents can enter the parking lot, park their vehicle, and escort their children across the crosswalk. The outer/right lane is another option.  You can go through the drop off lane and drop off your children to a staff member or safety patrol on duty on the curb from 7:00- 7:45 am daily.

Please do not park in the “No Parking “Areas or inside the Avalon subdivision, you may be ticketed.  Do not cross your children or allow them to cross Old Prue unescorted.  Please know that we are trying to keep your children safe.  ALL Wanke students are eligible to ride NISD school buses.  Call the Transportation department at 397-0900 for further information.

Additionally, House Bill 347 went into effect September 1st.  It prohibits the use of any wireless device, while in your vehicle on school property unless it is at a complete stop or you are on a hands-free device.  Still in existence is the previous bill which states wireless devices were not allowed to be use in school zones, unless on a hands-free device.  Lastly, please do not exceed the 5mph speed limit within the parking lot and loop.  Thank you for your cooperation.
