Introduction Letter

Dear Thornton Texans,

I wanted to take this opportunity to introduce myself and share with you my excitement in recently being appointed the new principal of William J. Thornton Elementary School.  The 2014-2015 school year is quickly approaching and I cannot wait to meet your children and you.  The opportunity to serve as the principal at Thornton Elementary is a dream come true and I can’t wait for the first day of school to arrive.

I am a graduate of Schreiner University where I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics.  I continued on to earn a Master of Science in Secondary Teaching at Texas A&M – Corpus Christi and after completing my Master of Education in Education Administration, I had the privilege to help open Bobbye Behlau Elementary in 2010 as the Vice Principal.

Along with the staff and community, I look forward to continuing to build upon the rich history that has existed at Thornton Elementary over the last 25 years.  We will be spending this school year celebrating the past traditions and preparing for our future successes.

During the course of the year, I look forward to working together to give our students the best opportunities in preparing them with a strong foundation for their future.  As Principal, my door is always open and I welcome your input.  Please feel free to stop in or call to make an appointment to discuss any concerns, suggestions, or ideas to help make this the best year yet!
