For the Kids, or FTK for short, is a student-led organization created to join forces with The University of Texas at San Antonio to support local families battling childhood cancer. The group fundraises year-round along with UTSA for the FTK Fund at the Children's Hospital of San Antonio. The beneficiaries of the funds- FTK families - are determined by a committee composed of UTSA students, faculty and staff, and Children's Hospital of San Antonio personnel. The positive impact FTK can have on families is highlighted in this video. FTK has proven that, with a little dedication, they can change the world. They do this by raising money, providing emotional and social support, and raising awareness for families battling childhood cancer. FTK at UTSA hosts remarkable events all year long, including Black Light Zumba, a kids’ fashion show, and culminating in a spectacular, 18-hour dance marathon. The students enjoy spending lots of time serving, playing, and laughing with these special kids at the hospital and at the events. Anybody who wants to make their high school experience extraordinary can join the Jay/SEA FTK organization. Mr. Guerrero in room B123 is the faculty sponsor.
