High School Accelerated Instruction, Credit Retrieval, EOC & TAKS Test Preparation

Again this summer, Accelerated Instruction and Credit Retrieval will be offered for NISD students who failed an EOC test this spring or who need to retrieve a course credit. Once EOC test scores are received from the Texas Education Agency (TEA), students will be contacted by their high school and told whether they need to attend Accelerated Instruction.The five EOC tests required for graduation include English I, English II, Biology, Algebra I, and U.S. History. Students attending Accelerated Instruction are expected to retest in July.

Accelerated Instruction and Credit Retrieval will be held June 11 to July 3, Monday - Thursday, at each high school campus. Session I - 8-11 am and Session 2 - 11:30 am-2:30 pm. EOC retresting will also take place at each high school campus from July 7-11. There is no charge for either of these programs. Please see your campus Academic Dean or Academic Support Teacher for more information.

Transportation will be provided to the home high school from the closest elementary school. Transportation also will be provided from the home high school to Marshall High School for students also attending Summer School. All transportation arrangements should be made through the home high school.


Summer TAKS Tutorial

The Summer TAKS Tutorial Program is available to any senior who has previously failed one or more sections of the Exit Level TAKS test and needs to retest in order to graduate.

The Program is available at each Comprehensive High School.

Dates:  June 23- July 3

Time:  8:00 to 11:00 AM   Monday – Thursday.

Transportation is provided to the home high school from the closest elementary school. All transportation arrangements should be made through the home high school.
