Please bring the following documentation for your child:

• Birth Certificate (original only)
• Proof of Residence (current CPS bill, water bill, lease, or mortgage only)
• Immunization Records (Details)
• Social Security Card
• Photo Identification of Parent / Guardian registering the child
• Last report card from previous campus

What are the school hours?

• School hours are 7:45a.m. - 2:45 p.m.
• Students are picked up from the cafeteria or gym by their teacher at 7:40 a.m.

What are the attendance policies?

Attendance
Attendance is taken at 9:00 a.m. Students will be counted absent if they are not in school at that time. A child may be excused for temporary absence for visits to health care professionals if the child returns to school on the same day of the appointment. A note from the health care professional must be brought into the office when the parent signs in the child. The child will then be counted as present for the day.

Absences
A written dated excuse needs to be sent with your child within 3 days when he/she returns to school. If the school does not receive a written note within 3 days stating the reason for the absence, the absence will be considered unexcused. Please see the District Student Parent Handbook for Attendance Guidelines.

Tardies / Late Arrivals
Students are tardy after 7:45 a.m. Students arriving after 8:00 a.m. must be signed in at the office to receive a tardy slip for the student to be admitted to class.

Excessive Absences/Tardies
If a child has excessive tardies and/or absences, their records will be reviewed by an attendance committee, and parents will be contaced. If excessive tardies and/or absences continue, the student will be referred to the District Attendance Officer. Please note that after 3 unexcused absences an Attendance Warning Notice has to be issued to the parents as per district policy.

How do I purchase school lunch for my child?

You can pay for your child's lunch in the school cafeteria. Tickets are normally purchased in 10-day increments. You may also pay online via the parent connection website. Click on the My Lunch Money Button.

Read with your child every day and encourage your child to do his/her best. Make sure they get a good night's sleep.

Does Rhodes offer a pre-kindergarten program?

Yes, Rhodes offers a half day PreK program. Click here for the NISD Pre-K website, which includes registration and eligibility requirements. You may also call the Rhodes office at 397-4000 for more information.

How will I find out about bus transportation?

School bus service is made available to students who live two miles or more from school, or students who live where they must walk in hazardous traffic areas. You can find general information on the NISD Transportation website here. You can also click on the search button and find specific information for your address.

Will the school have an after school care fee based provider?

A: The Urban Ministries, After School Kare, will be the after school Educational Enrichment Program. After School Kare hours will be from 2:45 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. each day that school is in session. They will also be on site on early release days. There are no registration fees and no supply fees. Tuition is as follows:

First Child: $155 per month
Second Child: $122 per month
