OVERVIEW

As a part of our poetry unit, students will learn about 5 different types of poetry, construct their own, develop a powerpoint in which to showcase the poetry and finally design an accompanying CD label for their project.

GUIDELINES FOR PROJECT:

You must have:
1. Minimum of 6 slides in your presentation.
2. Title Slide (With your name and a title for your project)
3. 1 picture per slide (clip art or digital image)
4. 1 poem per slide (Couplet, Haiku, Cinquain, Tanka, Acrostic)
5. 1 animation per slide (transition, sound, etc.)
6. 1 voice recording within presentation
7. 1 music clip per slide
8. Correct spelling & gramma

INTELLIGENCES BEING USED IN BASIC PROJECT:

Verbal/Linguistic (writing the poems,) Logical/Mathematical (making poems have correct rhythmic beats per line, fit into that poetry's pattern,) Musical/Rhythmic (making poems have correct rhythmic beats per line, fit into that poetry's pattern,)

 

OTHER OPTIONS FOR USING MULTIPLE INTELLIGENCES:

Use winter nature as a topic Naturalist
Make your own graphics Visual/spatial
Peer tutor to check poetry for requirements Interpersonal
Use Inspiration to brainstorm before beginning Intrapersonal
Check for correct rythmic beat using small drum or hand motions Bodily /Kinesthetic
*****Develop your own "stylized poetry" for 1 additional slide (for higher level thinking credit on project.) Intrapersonal, Verbal/Linguistic, Musical Rhythmic, Etc.
