Special Science Visitor at Passmore

Fifth graders at Passmore ES received a real-world lesson on “being a scientist” recently. The students were reading and learning about what different kinds of scientists do in their occupations when Brian Ewenson, an astrophysicist and former trainer of astronauts for NASA, visited the students to share his knowledge and love of science. Ewenson worked on shuttle and space station programs which involve math, physics, chemistry, biology, and earth science. The students were treated to viewing artifacts and blasting off model rockets to showcase how science is used in the real world.
