NISD schools should submit at least four (4) nominations, one in each category or one or more in the same category. Judges will correct category placement if needed. Non-campus-based programs are also encouraged to nominate outstanding partners.
Outstanding Mentor/Individual - Recognizes an outstanding mentor or individual who works directly with students, teachers, and/or schools in a manner positively impacting student achievement.
Outstanding Program - Recognizes an outstanding campus or district-wide program involving a partnership with a business or community group. (i.e. parental involvement program, mentor program)
Outstanding Business/Community Organization - Recognizes a business or community group working directly with students, teachers, schools on a one-time or ongoing basis.
Outstanding Mentor, Parental Involvement or Partnerships Coordinator - NISD employee or business or community person whose job (paid or unpaid) is managing school/business partnerships, mentor or parent volunteer programs.
Description of Partnership - Who is involved and what is happening?
Accomplishments - What has the nominee accomplished through their volunteer service and activities? How many hours have been committed to the activity and how many people were served?
Impact - Is there a demonstrated impact resulting from their volunteer activity? (i.e. test scores, letter grades, increase in parental involvement, positive image of school/students)
Challenge - Did the nominee use an innovative or exemplary approach in performing their volunteer service? List goals set and goals met.
Content Area Benefit - Did the nominee positively impact critical instructional content areas? (i.e. STEM, Fine Arts, Literacy....)
Using the form on the Internet, please complete a narrative statement of at least 1/2 page describing the nominee's service activities and demonstrating how those activities have made a positive impact in the school, district and/or community. The judges will use the Nomination Criteria (listed above) in the review process. Include information on how and when the activity began.

Nominees will be invited to the NISD School-Business-Community Partnerships Recognition and Awards Ceremony and Secondary Artfest, April 27, 2016, at Paul Taylor Field House, 7001 Culebra 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Winners will be announced at the 6:10 p.m. program.
