November Newsletter

Happy November!   I hope all of our families are enjoying the fall weather and are looking forward to our upcoming Thanksgiving Break!    I would like to take this opportunity to personally thank our Ott community Veterans for your dedicated service to the United States Armed Forces.  We will forever be grateful for your bravery and sacrifices to protect our country’s freedom.   I would also like to thank all of our Veterans and families who attended our annual Veteran’s Day ceremony.  The ceremony was heart-felt and our staff and students worked tirelessly for weeks to plan this extraordinary event.

Parents, thank you for actively participating in your child’s education. It has been wonderful to see parents coming in for conferences these past couple of months.  It is important that your child sees you proactive and involved in their education.  We have included suggested Reading and Math tips for home to support your child on the backside of this newsletter.   Our teachers truly appreciate your support and look forward to working closely with you this year, thanks again!

We are beginning the 2nd 9 weeks of school and our staff is working diligently with our students to support academic success.  Our teachers have begun after school tutoring for our 3rd-5th grade students, and are providing additional support to close academic gaps.  Parents, please remember students need to be picked up promptly at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons after tutoring.   Students with two or more late pick-ups or who miss three or more tutoring sessions will be dismissed from our after school tutoring program.

We would like to thank parents and community members for coming out to support our first annual PTA Monster Mash.  The event was a tremendous success and we appreciate the support and positive feedback we received.   Lisa Williams is our current PTA President and our PTA Board continues to excel this year under her leadership.  Please visit our school website to learn more about upcoming PTA events and news.  Don’t forget to stay connected and “Like” Ott Elementary PTA on Facebook!

Parents, please remember students should not be dropped off in the parking lot to cross the front driveway on their own.  This is dangerous and can potentially lead to an accident.  Please park your vehicle and cross your child or pull through the front driveway to drop off.

As always thank you for supporting Ott Elementary.  Our staff is committed to all of our students’ success and we appreciate your continued assistance. I wish all of our students and families a joyous Thanksgiving this year.  Enjoy the time off with your family; please don’t forget students return back from the break on December 2nd.

Have a great month!
