Kerry Haupert is Northside’s 2011/2012 Innovator of the Year, an award given to an employee whose creative ideas improve their school or the district. Kerry is honored for creating programs that serve refugee or newcomers students and their families. She has raised more than $140,000 in grant money to benefit this unique population. Kerry spent several years at Mead Elementary School before moving to Hobby Middle School this year to continue working with newcomers. Here’s a day in the life in her classroom.
